WORD COUNT: 11,000-something
1. Woes. I meant to be finished with Chapter Two by now, but I only wrote 1,100 words this morning and haven’t finished up yet. I’ve been about to sit down to work on the ending for the last seven hours, so I guess it’s actually time to do so. (Yet instead, I blog.)
2. Goals. Tomorrow I’m not going to stop writing once I reach one thousand words, as I did today and yesterday. I’m going to keep going until I finish the whole word count. That way, I won’t have to make more time in the evening for something I ought to have thought through in the morning.
3. Cards. My characters are playing a card game for high stakes. It turns out not to be very easy to write about a card game that doesn’t exist and whose rules you don’t know, so I made up some times when people have to draw or discard to make it sound realistic. And I put in the word “trump” a lot.
4. Food & Bribes. This isn’t related to writing, but I really like Chick-fil-a. Gift cards of any increment will incline me to name a character after you. (See, it was related to writing after all.) No promises that the character will live through the book. It isn’t personal.
