I read The Norton Book of Science Fiction edited by Brian Attebery and Ursula K. Le Guin. All eight-hundred-odd pages of it: North American fiction published between 1950 and 2000. I kept it at my desk on campus to read in the mornings during my office hour, which I did throughout Fall 2010 and Spring 2011. I just finished it today, on the same day as my last day of class.
Note: No more class!
Now I’m reading my backlog of Fantasy and Science Fiction magazines, as well as Negotiating with the Dead, essays/lectures by Margaret Atwood. As soon as the grading is done, it will be all summer for me!
